It has one of the best selection of Korean produce and also has a lot of korean related products, like skincare, homewares (rice cookers, pots and pans etc.). Service varies from place to place, but the one I visit the most is the Mitcham one and their service there is pretty decent. The prices can sometimes be a bit high compared to other Asian grocers, but it is still the best place for most Korean products
This is the best Korean grocery store in Melbourne CBD. They have a huge range of products! They even sell korean skincare and pots/pans upstairs! The staff are really nice and friendly too.
I always go to the KT Mart in Mitcham and its hands down, my favourite Korean grocery. Great variety of Korean snacks and products at a relatively affordable as compared to other smaller Korean groceries.
Something really dodgy is going on here, after reading some of these reviews. Do you guys check up on integrity of these reviewers? Looks like an inside job. The rating on this store is so untrue, you guys are making me register and share you the truth.
This quite possibly is one of the WORST grocery market in Melbourne.
It's claustrophobic, unhygienic, and staffed by rude employees.
They're trying to cramp so much into little space there's no room for movement. Seriously. Each aisle can only be occupied by one person and you can forget about entering one if someone else is already in one, because you won't be able to pass them.
Second point is their lack of common sense when handling frozen and refrigerated foods. I've noticed that they are constantly stocking up the store loading everything from a little white van parked at the front and through the front door. Now, I don't have problem with this. But what I have witnessed I have problem with. These guys are transporting and storing perishable food (that require freezing and refrigeration) in un-refrigerated van. I have been there on a hot day, and they just lay out all the frozen products out in the open and you can see them thawing, boxes soaking with melting moisture.
Then they put them right into the fridge and freezers. WTF. All those frozen dumplings and frozen fish, thawed, then refrozen. And these guys have NO IDEA. Transporting these products in un-refrigerated vehicle is bad enough, you gotta lay them out in the open and let them melt, then refreeze them again? If someone gets sick from eating these products, don't say I didn't warn you.
And the staff. When I first visited, the actual owners were running the checkout, and they were very friendly. But as soon as they hired these casual workers (probably underpaid) they are just straight up rude. I've kindly asked them for a box, then they told me to go pick up one from the garbage bin. LOL. If you didn't have one to spare, all you had to say was you were out of it. Don't tell the customer to go pick up one from the garbage bin.
That was the last straw to this place. No straws left. LOL.
Never returning.
It's pretty clean and organized for a place with such cheap produce.I feel I have saved money there.
Thanks for good information~
