A nice change from all the boring, same cuisine that is available in Sydney. The food was great and the staff super nice

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was great, really tasty and filling. Try the potato entree, yum!

It seems to be a small family run restaurant and in true Peruvian style the staff can get a little flustered when busy, however, they are all friendly and willing to go that extra mile for you, just need to explain your needs clearly.
The food is great, but not the absolute best. I understand things will never taste exactly as they do in Peru! But it can still be slightly disappointing.
It is however, still a good representation of Peruvian cuisine, I just think the organisation and the service have room for improvement.

My friends and I were excited to try this restaurant because there is not a lot of peruvian cuisine available around Sydney. Our excitement continued when we walked in for lunch, they had authentic peruvian tablecloths and wall art decorating the place and it was appealing.

The menu had a lot of choices, but we proceeded to order four of the exact same dish the beef lomo saltado. Five mins after ordering the waiter came back to our table to say they had no beef but they could do the same dish with chicken, we said that chicken was fine. Although, I was wondering why there was no beef available when half the dishes on the menu were beef dishes?

We were the only customers in the restaurant, but our meal did not come to the table until 50 mins after ordering! We were starving at this point and wondering what the delay was. I could see into the kitchen from my table, and the chef just seem to be working at a snail's pace, not sense of urgency at all.

By the time we got our meal, we were pretty disappointed. The food was very average, and tasted bland. All that waiting did not eventuate into a satisfying lunch. One of my friends felt sick afterwards. The food was expensive for what it was, and the service was very average. We will not be giving La Cocina a second opportunity to impress, since they did not try particularly hard the first time.

There's another revew below yours from a few years ago and it sounds as though nothing has changed. Wonder how they stay in business?

Hi JMS1984, Thanks for yet another impeccably written review. Appreciated! The lack of beef suggests an element of poor planning on the part of the business in question and would be an obvious disappointment for many. Overall, despite the attractive interior, the experience sounds very disappointing. Thanks for the heads-up! Reeces

We were excited to try a new restaurant and new type of food, however it definitely did not impress. The food was cheap, good value and big main meals, however it was bland with little to no flavour. To make things worse, we were all sick the next day!!

Approximate cost: $15-20
