I had scallopine with chips and salad.There were 4 slices of meat - more than other la prochettas. I was so surprised the meat was actually tender. I have now had the same meal 5 times. No difference.the salad and chips were average. Everyone was pleasant. With the pizzas tho' you cannot tell them what you want on a pizza, but name the type of pizza they have and tell them what you do not want. The people I had do not know the names of them. I think the girls should be able to wear a longer t-shirt above the leginns.there were self concious people. Everyone was pleasant. A very pleasant time and I would recommend it
Sunday night and they weren't very busy but we had to ask them to clear the table after we had finished our meal, even then they left bottles and unused glasses, they were still on the table when we left. They got 2 drink orders incorrect. The staff were all too busy standing around chatting to each other to pay attention to their customers! Food was ok!

Is this not standard practice for La Porchetta? We have experienced the same level of service (or lack thereof) from most La Porchetta restaurants. If expectations are low, you will not be disappointed.
Great local family restaurant. Food is great value, the kids love the pizza and pasta and the dining experience. Staff are friendly even if brand new and a trainee.

We love La Porchettas in Frankston, Mentone, Dandenong and Sorrento but found this one very disapointing. On finding what appeared to be a hair in my pizza the manager came out and stated that it was from the mushroom - what they grow in. When explaining he told us that the mushrooms are not washed (he said washing them would turn them black - I disagreed and said I often cook with mushrooms and water does not turn them black, just that they might soak up some water) and they do not brush or wipe them - he stated this would cost too much as it is too time consuming. He brought out a box of button mushrooms which had lots of bits of the growing medium attached ( as you buy them in the supermarket) and showed us what looked like hair and said that was what was on my pizza. He offered to make another but I said I didn't want pizza with unwashed mushrooms. He then said they would wash some just for me.
When my new pizza was brought out it was not even the same type I had originally ordered so I really wasn't that interested.
I would never ever eat here again given that they do not clean their mushrooms and I will check that they do in the other La Porchettas prior to ordering in future.

While mushroom preparation can be notoriously time consuming, it is preferable that they are ‘gently’ wiped (with a paper/linen towel or light bristled brush) but never washed, as they have a tendency to retain liquid and no one likes a ‘soggy’ mushroom! While this process does admittedly take time, this is just a part of competent food preparation. In addition to this, it is our understanding that growing mediums are not fit for consumption and therefore should not be included upon/within one’s food. In light of this, we too would be giving the afore-mentioned restaurant a miss, particularly after such an admission.
We love taking our friends to La Porchettas and enjoy the space, value and some of the weekly specials or the gourmet pizzas with the Mediterranean salad. The girls provide great service but the blokes at the front desk are grumpy at times, although they mean well.
The experience in La Porchetta is very comfortable and enjoyable, there is an outside and inside dining area. There is tables of different sizes and amounts of chairs to suite every-ones needs.
