This place has a great design and really caters to the whole family. Prices are good but with work we get an even better discount so the price is unbelievably great value. Unfortunately your always left with a feeling of loneliness inside as the place is huge but never full.

We have been here quite a few times over the years and have been generally happy with the quality of the food and service. We went again during this week (on a weekday) for a birthday lunch. The place was empty (felt abandoned) though the waiter was very funny. Our jugs of coke were flat & pretty tasteless which is disappointing considering how much jugs of cokes cost at restaurants cost these days. We ordered two pizza's as starters and they were quite good. We had pasta for mains with mixed results. The tortellini was served like it hadn't been cooked long enough. The picture indicated bacon but we could not find one piece in the dish. It's the first time we had to send a dish back to get it re-cooked (a very dicey request and not something that you want to ever do). They tried to explain that because tortellini is a 'folded' pasta it can have a texture like it is 'a bit tough'. I think they microwaved it and hand it back because the top tasted a bit better but the bottom was pretty much the same. I don't buy for a minute the story they tried to tell us as we have had tortellini many times. In fact i've had better 'latina' pasta from the supermarket. We had gelato for dessert. Mine tasted nice but the outside seemed like it's been in the freezer a while but everyone else seemed happy with there choice. Although three quarters of one pasta dish remained (it wasn't worth eating) and we received an apology of kinds we left it behind (didn't want a doggy bag for it) and no type of discount was offered.

I would describe it as a mixed experience. The service was good but there were some very disappointing aspects of this dining experience. Enough to say that I now would never go back. I recently tried Panarottis in Blacktown two weeks ago and although it was more expensive (the drinks weren't much better though), the food was unexpected fast & awesome and I'm eager to go back and try something else from their menu. I kind of feel sorry for La Porchetta because I like the location and I wanted it to be good. They will need to make some fast massive changes to get people to visit and their outlook could be very bleak.

Approximate cost: $20

Just went there recently and the food wasn't that fantastic. I felt like something salty and I got just that, the pizza tasted like a jar of salt, but my friend's pasta was nice and we shared that.
