I love souvlaki and the ones sold here did not disappoint. They are full of flavour and the serving sizes are very generous. There's a whole range of sauces to choose from and the meat is cooked really well. I ordered the lamb souvlaki with a side of chips and had the option to pick from a variety of different toppings. The price was also incredibly reasonable and the staff were very efficient.

This very small corner restaurant/take-away buiness seriously needs a face lift. It's situated on the corner of Church and Swan Streets in Richmond which is a great location but the ambience in here would have to be about -10.

Having said that, the food was almost good enough to make up for it. The lamb souvlaki with all the salad and sauce options - even though I asked for not too large a serve - was huge. We ate in and were served on plates. There are about three small tables and chairs in here on the blue concrete floor which needs painting. The close proximity of the counter and cooking cylinders of meat means it's hot and you get all the cooking smells. Which aren't bad but ... not quite an elegant experience.

The lamb was plentiful and with a salty, crisp on the outside and juicy in the middle taste. Very distinctive and delicious.
My friend had the falafel roll which was likewise filled with fresh salad and the falafels were really crisp and flavoursome.

Other options include fish and chips, hot dogs and burgers among many. We had originally planned on a burger but the gentleman apologized and said he hadn't got his deliveries yet. I'm sure he made our lunch extra special because of this shortfall.

There's a drink fridge with plenty of choices and you can watch the passing parade on this very busy intersection. But don't expect any companionable atmosphere, unless it's with the tasty lunch or dinner you are consuming.

Approximate cost: $11 souvlaki, $9.50 falafel roll, $5 hot dog, $6 burgers with salad etc
