Gorgeous! My husband and I had our wedding reception at Le Montage. We were blown away at how beautiful our room and the venue as a whole was.
The staff were helpful, professional and supportive in the lead up and on the night.
Our guests all had positive comments on the food, venue and staff.
Overall, Le Montage exceeded our expectations and helped make our day perfect.

Le Montage is a beautiful function centre located near the water in Lilyfield. I have attended a few weddings in the past and had the opportunity to attend one recently. Everything was absolutely beautiful from the moment we drove into the parking area. We were greeted by a doorman as we entered the beautiful foyer with a lovely grand piano. We then walked up a gorgeous spiral staircase to the top level to enter the designated room for our function. The table settings were elegant, the service was great and the food was delicious.

I had a wedding reception at Le Montage in early October 2017. Wedding's are the most stressful things to plan in your life, everyone wants their perfect day. This review will highlight the positives and negatives about Le Montage.

Positives:
1. Great Modern Venue by the water
2. Good Food (Minimal Variety)
3. The provided MC (bonus inclusion) was great.

I would like to start with my whole experience of signing a service agreement with Le Montage. I arranged an appointment with their coordinator and was shown the available rooms for the day 6 months prior. Upon looking at the rooms, I told her I would get back to her. A few days later, I sent her an email requesting the paperwork to pay the deposit. There was no response and I cc'd the manager. Unfortunately after making several calls, no paperwork was given and the following week they told me the room that I wanted to get was already booked and paid for. This was ridiculous. Their excuse was that the coordinator only worked once a week. After finally being offered another room upstairs (Alexandra), I finally got a service contract signed. The contract was for $150pp (although packages stated starting from $115pp - which was claimed due to the lower number of adults and Saturday choice).

So with the above story there were 2 major problems:
1. The price was $150pp (excluding GST). This was not expressed to me and is non-ethical to provide prices excluding GST when it is not a business-to-business agreement. Hence, the real price was $165pp (extremely pricey for what was offered). Due to my timeframe, I was forced to hire this.
2. The venue that I was told was booked was not booked. On the day, there was no one else in the venue for Lunch time.

Negatives:
1. Now onto the service issues with the Wedding Coordinators. As talked about previously, I had a coordinator who worked once a week. She quit, and I was given another coordinator. Over the entire course of the period, this coordinator failed to respond and did not provide me with any information (apart from those I forced from her - e.g. what details are required by Le Montage, or any answers to queries I had).
The reception desk was just as useless. I called them on a number of occassions asking for a response from my coordinator and they told me they would tell her to call me back. After this, she either emailed me or did not reply at all. Occassionally, I had to cc. the manager to get a reply. For example, in the last week, I asked for a change in the room layout and provided this. I also had to swap two place cards and I called the venue insisting they get her to call me back as I did not have access to email. Later in the day, I dropped by to swap the placecards and no one was at the reception. The coordinator was luckily there, and I managed to swap the placecards. After getting home, I realised I did not receive either an email or call about confirmation of anything despite asking multiple times. The following day on my wedding, the layout was NOT fixed and I had to ask them to change it while they were setting up. There were multiple other issues, but this is just one of many.

On the day, the reception was the absolute worst service ever.
2. The Bridal Room (Alexandra) was at the back of the studio where they talk to customers in appointments so it had to be walked through to get to. There were no signs on it indicating that it was in use. When my wife (bride) was changing, a MALE staff member walked in without knocking which is RIDICULOUS.
3. I was insistent on ushers during the preparation and the coordinator told me this would be done by the staff on the day. On the day, the ushers made no attempt to direct guests to their tables or the staff. I was forced to pay $85pp for the staff members, and had to provide them food, and the ushers did not even direct them to the staff table. As several of my friends had not arrived, the staff members sat in their seats as they were confused among my family and friends which is RIDICULOUS again. I told this to the staff member while I was about to enter and gave him specific direction to move the staff members to their table so my friends could sit down. My friends that were late did not feel welcome as the staff members were sitting in their seats and ended up leaving prematurely due to this POOR direction. To top it off, they did not check any of the staff members names so two people who were not invited or paid for were sitting and eating at empty guests (who did not turn up) tables around the room. The staff member did not fix this resulting in several of my guests leaving and uninvited guests eating food.
4. The whole event was running late with the venue only providing the USB (given a week prior) to the MC 5 minutes after the event started resulting in the MC asking myself for the USB. This resulted in the entire event being delayed (with no extra time given).
5. All the food did not arrive as per the running order. When I entered 25 minutes after the main was supposed to be served, they were still bringing out the mains. This resulted in the cake coming out less than 30 minutes before the end of the event hence not many people got to eat it. Additionally, the waiters took the dishes very early and many people missed their meals.

Overall, there were many other minor problems however it was an extremely unpleasant service overall and I would recommend to never go with this venue for a complicated event like a wedding, and if so, bring your own ushers as their staff service is atrocious.

Approximate cost: $165

Not even 1 star.

Had my wedding here and while i wasnt expecting some magical disney experience i didnt also expect to pay for such a disappointment!

We were lied to prior to signing out contract. Told we could have all these extras at one price only told different months later. But because it wasn't written down we had no proof!

Prior to signing the contract they called us weekly and were so helpful (like in the movies) but once we signed the contract they didnt make contact we done all the chasing. They couldnt even het our names right. At one stage we both had males names.

Their decorator would not get back to us after a mix of at least 10 phone calls, voice mails, emails and msgs to reception she still didnt get back to us.
She tried talking us into getting a credit card to pay the ridiculous prices for her work ( although these were the things we were told were included and extra were at a reasonable price.)

They did not follow our list of order, so why give us the option? The father daughter dance was axed as they didnt have time.

Bride grrom and bridal party missed out on 2 meals and cake because they were getting photos and they cleared the tables before any of us returned. Without warning.

The staff were in the way of photos and rude. One server dropped the hot fudge sauce everywhere. Didnt come back and clean it so it was all over the table chair and floor.
Desserts were burnt so everyone complained to me..

Our guests were left outside in the freezing wonter wedding and not allowed in until we arrived.

We were told guests could purchase spirits on the night but then on the night said they couldnt.

At the end of the night the inclusion car was late so instead of letting it go for the extra time they ended the night then interupted photos to say we had to hide so people thought we were gone so they would all leave.
They actually wanted us to walk away from the venue and hide in the carpark or bushes?!

I would say do not!!! Fall for their sale pitch and upgrades/inclusions.
I would steer clear of narvarra they are just greedy, money hungry and liars.

Unless you do what they want and get credit cards and put yourself in debt you will just be another number.

Approximate cost: $3000

Do not recommend for weddings at all. The staff who create your package are so kind and warm and helpful! But as soon as you sign the contract you're reassigned to some really useless people who don't return calls. A week before my wedding I was trying to contact my coordinator to change some details (size of stage) and she told me she was unavailable until the week after our wedding!? I called about 20 times and sorted it out with reception staff who told me that I needed to pay 100 to reduce size of stage. They would not accept payment over phone and wanted cash only. They threatened that if the fee was not paid by 9 am on the day of my wedding that they wouldn't open the door for my guests ( even though I had paid for my event 30,000 in full already). My mother had to run to Le montage on the day of our wedding before 9 am and pay this stupid 100 cash fee.

Also, I had my photoshoot interrupted on the night of my event by manager asking me to pay a 200 Fee to keep our cake In The fridge!!

My husband and I were shocked that they take $30,000 + from you and then stop you on the night of your wedding to see if you will pay 200 for the storage of a wedding cake in their fridge.

What a shame Le montage. You need to work on your values - kindness and respect.

Wedding was absolutely beautiful, venue just as beautiful, food was ok, service was... Terrible! While going out to take a photo of the bridal party I was pushed out of the way by a waitress (literally two handed pushed not an accident) , I let it go, because I wasn't going to start drama at a friends wedding! Then it got worse, the same waitress came to pick up (our 3/4 full) jug during speeches and stepped on my foot, no apology at all. I was thinking could it get any worse, turns out yes I can, not only did the wait staff push me, they also kept pushing their way through the farewell circle, my poor heavily pregnant friend was a victim to a hip barge from a male waiter who was angry that people were standing in his way (btw with the size of the dance floor no way could you get out of his way). All night the wait staff were everywhere, which I guess you could say was great attentiveness but hey let me finish my desert before you take it, and why does a mostly full just of Coke (because there were no other soft drinks all night) need to be taken and refilled.

I am in two minds about actually leaving this review because I don't want my friends who got married to be upset, but seriously Le Montage for a luxury venue, your service is terrible.

I flew up to attend a conference in Sydney which also included a gala dinner at the conference conclusion at Le Montage. It was by far one of the best events I've ever attended. Everything from the event manager's attentiveness, to the execution of a three course meal. I was extremely impressed and will be definitely recommending members of my industry body to hold events at Le Montage in the future.

Attended my niece's christening here and the food was incredible. There was this huge grazing table with salami, meats, breads, antipasto and more! It was so amazing to be overlooking the bay with this tumultuous spread on offer!
