Have had work done on several instruments, always done well, and at a reasonable price (compared to two other quotes). A little out of the way but worth the travel.

There's no two ways about it, this place has to be totally unique in Melbourne for the type of work they do on repairing musical instruments.

As they say "We are a family owned and operated business specialising in the repair and maintenance of brass and woodwind musical instruments. We have the complete workshop; we can do anything. "

And they're not wrong. Dent you trumpet? Get a mouthpiece stuck in your trombone? These are the guys to go and see. There's at least two generations of this family taking care of Melbourne muso's instruments.

The electroplating tanks are a sight to behold, like something out of another century. And they are so talented, I truly believe they can do anything, no matter how bad the instrument might be damaged. It's a little scary at first because you handle your instrument with care as you should, but these guys are so laid back, when they pick up a hammer and you cringe ... one tap later and the dint is gone. Normal people would not dare to do this.

They are an excellent resource for school bands as well with the way children can sometimes have "accidents" with their instruments.

Cost of course is variable, depending on the work to be done, but there's two things to consider - no-one else can do the stuff these guys do, and considering your instrument cost thousands, you may as well get it done right the first time.
