1 review about Little Swallow

Little Swallow is a cute little cafe on trendy Piper St in Kyneton. We popped in for lunch with our 8 month old and 4 year old. I was dismayed to find no highchair on the premises. I think it is inexcusable to have no high chair in a cafe. Space is clearly limited at Little Swallow, so a 'Handysitt' style chair, or one of the foldable cloth harness types would do well here.
Service here was disappointing. No waitress seemed able to crack a smile whilst we were there, and I very much felt like they were doing us a giant favour serving us- not the way you want to feel when spending your hard earned on a nice meal out.
Now, to the food: we ordered the mezze. It came with olives, Ishtra prosciutto, smoked salmon, white anchovies, goat's curd, roasted vegetables and toasted bread. Very delicious and $14.50.
Lunch was a lamb ragu pasta- very hearty and tasty.
Chai latte was delicious, made with an in house chai syrup.
Service seemed to be slow- I noticed a table behind us wait quite some time for their breakfast, and they had to call out to a waitress to check where it was. No smiles or apologies.
I got a chocolate brownie to take away, which was generous in size and laden with chocolate chunks.
Good food, but horribly snooty service. Would not return.

Hi Curlycee, it is a sad state of affairs indeed when employees cannot even offer a smile to a paying customer. Surely their wage should be adequate incentive?! Thanks for another superbly executed review! Reeces
