Good coffee and friendly staff. Nice environment for a relax brunch or quick coffee on the go. The golden latte is a great alternative to caffeine drinks.
This is a great little cafe, with a nice lively atmosphere. The coffee is excellent and so is the food. The staff are all friendly and helpful. I felt our bill was very reasonable, considering the quality of the coffee and food.
Great coffee, and consistently good breakfast as well. The staff are generally pretty switched on, its not so noisy and theres a nice outside space too. Good vegetarian selection, and tasty.
Ordered an ice chocolate which looked so cool in a jar instead of a glass also tasted delic. Along with a slice which was good but not fantastic as reasonably small for the price which was probably a good thing after a sweet overload with the drink. Cool high ceiling the place is not cramped which is nice on a hot day. Real pleasant friendly staff as well which made it relaxing.
I went here for breakfast and enjoyed my meal coffees were good. Good location pretty busy and popular with the locals would come again. Easy to park
This charming caffe has one of the best coffees I tried in caffes...it costs $3 and they have nice cakes ( carrot, orange with walnuts) for $5...nice meals are served ( good sized portions)...and staff are friendly...definitely going back there...
This is the best consistently good coffee that I've found in the area and I keep coming back. The lovely baristas have outrageously cool hair to match the über cool rustic charm of the cafe itself. All the staff here are friendly and entertaining.
I usually get take away. It's not easy to figure out where to stand to wait but well worth it for the great coffee.
Also love this place and ditto to everything you've said. A great review. Though I also wonder where to stand whilst waiting for my coffee.
This is one of my favourite cafes. The food is great, generous serves and very reasonably priced. I like a strong, full bodied and flavoured coffee- but not hot and bitter. This cafe rarely disappoints! Service is very efficient and friendly :)
Approximate cost: $12-15
Good coffee in this coffee shop with many items on the menu t, also nice and clean, would come again soon and bring some friends
Ubercool interior with european feel--thai salad huge and delish--tailored milkshake tops. Best local.
This is our regular weekend breakfast destination. The food is yummy and the coffees aren't bad. Sometimes the service can be a bit lousy, but it has picked up it's game lately with some energetic new staff. There are better coffees in the area, but we like this place because of the food and it is a great place to hang out in the sunshine with the dog.
i went there couple of time the food is superb there i always go there for specials had chicken burger last time was amazing bravo to chef.
Approximate cost: $15
The coffee here is WOW. The barista is very clever putting faces into the top. However every time I have eaten breakfast here it has been disappointing. The meals have been less than adequate in portion size and the quality poor. I have left here wishing I had made my own at hoe. In fact I have only returned as friends had arranged to meet here. Very noisy, difficult to get seating
Went to Loco today for breakfast. The environment was ok, noisy but thats to be expected on a Sunday at lunch timeish. My partner and I both ordered a soy cappucino, as nice as they were presented they were only warm not hot. Food was avergae, my partner's was a 'heart attack on a plate' it was so greasy. YUK. Mine was ok. Over-all I wouldn't go back there again as there are much nicer and healthier places to have breakfast.
Some people drink bad coffee all the time with burnt milk so by the time they getting very good coffee they think the coffee is could so please if you don't know any thing about coffee don't comment on coffee!!
I am drinking all most every day at loco and the coffee is AMAZING
I'm a local loco customer, the chai latte is one of the best and the service is always friendly, even when they are flat out and don't have another table. One thing I like about these guys is they never push you off a table or try to hurry you.... Atmosphere is relaxed and funky, food is great and always lots of it. You always meet someone you know at this cafe so it must be good. Yeah!
Approximate cost: $12
Check out this fantastic little cafe in the heart of the Elsternwick shopping district. Despite it looking like the place was thrown together, its clear that everything from the service, the coffee, the menu and the mis-matched furniture was carefully planned to give the ultimate cafe experience!
Approximate cost: $12
best coffee in Melbourne with amazing latte art. awesome prices and lots of variety. gourmet food without being over the top. lots of vegie options for breakfast and mains. few cute little pastries to have with coffee. & of course they use my favourite coffee beans
Best Coffee in Australia, This place is great, very busy but worth the wait. the menu is really good and the staff look after you. I would recommend anyone to this palace of coffee..
Approximate cost: $10 -15
I always go in there for coffee. Read my other reviews, I tend to be particular with my coffee.
The coffee here is very good. I still prefer Figjam on Sundays to anything else but one thing that this place has is the consistency. And it counts a lot. I know that I can go in there Anyday and have a good cup of coffee anytime which i cannot do with other cafes.
Staff is friendly and the place is busy.
Totally agree....i am veryyy fussy with my coffee and Loco is very consistent which is a rare find....try their french toast...yummy!.. When I feel like going somewhere local , I go to Figjam which also has great coffee.......otherwise i drive down to Loco once or twice a week
I haven't tried the coffee at Loco but their salads are really great. I was impressed by the service and thought it had a nice atmosphere despite being a bit noisy.
Approximate cost: $13
good food good service just a quick visit for a quick bite the service was quick and with no fuss no complaints at all just a bit noisy from some tables but expect that from these places
Approximate cost: $15
Small cafe which has good coffee but when we tried to book for a group of 10 they refused to take our booking. This caused us to go somewhere else as its often very hard to get a table for more than 4. I felt it was unprofessional and although I would go back I would never recommend a large party to go there.
Approximate cost: $15.00
Nice atmosphere-staff speak poor English-coffee good but no better than st kilda, carlisle st or the pound in elsternwick. management staff are old sleazy men and they can be rude when it's busy, which is often. they paint pictures of boobs on the coffee-pathetic!
Approximate cost: $15
When comparing to the pound in Elsternwick Loco is head and shoulders above them. The pound is only a place to go when you want bad service and bad attitude. Their food is ok but Loco provides great service and value for money meals. Coffee is great and Chai Latte is right up my alley. I have not once experienced rude staff I have though experienced a good sence of humour at Loco....
I'm a frequent visitor at Loco. Yes, they are busy, but that's because its a fantastic cafe. I couldn't care less about management, i'm there for their coffee and food and for socialising with the management. Coffee is "Perfecto" and the food is delicious and always generously served.
The Pound on the other hand, is a nice looking Cafe with very little substance. Their prices are way too high but I guess soeone has to pay for their stylish decor. Can't even compare the two..
great friendly service with fab coffee. Very busy and often hard to get a table early in the morning. Try waiting for a table as it is worth it. The breakfast menu is great, especially the bircher muesli.
This place is OK but a bit over-rated. Coffee is okay but no the best ever and the place is a bit pretencious. You'd find cafes just as good (and better) in St Kilda East (try Carlise St), even St Kilda. Not much competition for cafes in Elsternwick at the moment, most places are restaurants or bakeries.
totally agree--what's the deal?
I thought I would check out cafe Loco after reading reviews on womow and have to agree with everyone. The food was great and the prices are very reasonable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and service was very good. It was busy but not overly so despite being a Sunday morning and we got a nice table with comfy seating. There is also outdoor seating on the pavement which looked spacious enough.
Love the coffee. Terrific bircher muesli and great eggs. I look forward to breakfasts here. It can get a bit busy but it's worth putting up with the crowds.
Approximate cost: $12
Such yummy food! The breakfasts are absolutely delicious and the coffee is outstanding. My biggest problem here is that I spend way too long deciding what to eat because there are so many good options.
the best coffee i've had anywhere in melbourne - with the most gorgeous latte artwork. really funky atmosphere - a real hidden treasure in the S.E suburbs. has an edgy class to it - not unlike the kind of cafe's you find in all the trendy streets in town. the only difference is u get all the good stuff that you would expect from a trendy cafe but without the pretentious service & prices that usually come with it.
so in summary - cheap + great service & staff + super awesome coffee = amazing cafe
A group of us went for breakfast midweek, so it was busy ! We had friendly, quick and efficient service - with a smile !
The food and the coffee was great.
There is a nice relaxed atmosphere.
