Loved it. They have food I've not seen in Melbourne before, very authentic and worlds apart from the Mexican restaurants we are familiar with in Melbourne. The appearance is very casual, almost like a cafe, and the staff reflect that relaxed mood (in a positive sense) I whole heartedly recommend you pay them a visit. I notice they have opened a second store in Ascot Vale, a better business location (Maidstone is a bit tucked away) and they definitely deserve the better exposure.
Not necessarily Mexican but more so food across Latin America is offered at this small but homey restaurant.
Latin American food is rare to come by in Melbourne, so having this restaurant around is a real delight. There is a wide variety of foods from across different countries such as Colombia, Chile and El Salvador, to name a few.
My favorite food on the item is the Salvadorian pupusas, however i do find them to be just a bit overpriced.

Just a follow up – I went to the new Ascot Vale location yesterday. The food was faultless in this location as well, but a very different vibe to Maidstone, where as Maidstone is a relaxed cafe, almost homely, Ascot Vale is a much larger scale, and much more polished. suitable for large groups and work functions. I am terrible at understanding accents, and I seem to be equally as indecipherable to all people whom english isn't their first language, so I had difficulty communicating with the staff, but nothing a few blank stares, nods and finger pointing couldn't overcome. Personally I prefer the vibe at Maidstone, but I really wish them well in this location and hope they make a hit of it, they deserve to succeed for the expanded palette they bring to Melbourne, a key thing I love about our home.
