Went here on a Saturday after our plan of visiting another restaurant nearby failed miserably... Lot 7 is absolutely HUGE. I really liked the decor inside, simple and chic but it still had a very friendly and warm atmosphere. There's a plenty of tables and even a “stall-like” area towards the back of the restaurant, perfect if you just want to have drinks.

Arrived here at 6pm with a group of 5 people and we didn't have a booking. I had the 250g sirloin steak, cooked medium-well done with crushed potatoes and salsa verde. The steak was booked perfectly, tender but not dry. The crushed potatoes was slight baked, but the down side was that there wasn't enough of it! It was my first time trying salsa verde and it complimented the steak very well.


My friend ordered the salmon with ratatouille. She said that the salmon was well cooked and wasn't dry at all. We also had chunky chips to share and despite how basic it sounds, the chips were definitely a winner! It tasted as though it was fried twice or beer battered because the outside was just so crispy, but it was still soft in the middle and the chips were perfectly seasoned.


My other friend had the lasagne and it didn't look very appetising, and my friend wasn't a fan of it at all. The sauce was very tomato-y and the lasagne didn't have any cheese sauce through it - and that's the best part!


Had no issues about the service. Took our order, food came out after a reasonable amount of time and that was about it. Overall, great atmosphere and a great restaurant if you're heading out to dinner with a big group. There were quite a few families and kids there as well, so it's a great family restaurant in Melbourne CBD. I'd describe the menu as “Modern Australian” so there's probably something for everyone.
