Just before Christmas of 2023, I asked Manion plumbing to attend a job on the upper floor of our house. The upstairs toilet had a noticeable leak appearing around the base. After claiming the job was fixed, we went interstate for Christmas. I returned about 10 days later to find water coming down through the lights in the laundry room directly below the toilet. Panicked, I called Manion, but they treated it like just another job and told me it would be DAYS before they'd be able to come back out. In that time we had to call out another plumber, shut off the water and basically leave it dormant for Manion to address. In the meantime we drilled a hole in the ceiling and at least 3 litres of water came gushing out. This was all taking place during the final month before putting the property on the market. Manion returned, did a second pass on the toilet. Made zero apologies and invoiced me $500. The total real cost for their services, once I factor in the second plumber, the cost of ceiling repairs (not to mention my own time) was well over 2 grand. Plumbing services in Tasmania are very hit and miss. But if you want to be treated like a number, by people with zero care if your house is falling apart because of either incompetent or incomplete work, Manion may be for you.

Manion Plumbing was able to send someone out in a timely manner, at all stages of the repair we were kept informed of any costs that we might incur and he seeked our permission before proceeding with any work.
