I recently stayed in a Penthouse at the Mantra with the girls, the price was cheaper than other hotels in Sydney. Fully equipped, my room even had a microwave, a bar and fridge. Although i did request from the two Penthouse to get the larger one, it was confirmed we did but when i got to the room it was very small esp. for the floor plan i was given. We also hired a three bedroom for the other girls, instead they were given the bigger Penthouse with walk in wardrobe, a spa ensuite so i was very dissapointed that they had given us the wrong one in the first place.. This was for a special occasion for my cousin. Overall good service but dissapointed that i paid so much for a penthouse and got the smaller one.

I LOVE this hotel!

Location - right in the middle of the nice Wynyard area of the city. It's literally a few steps out the door to the buses down George Street, and it's only 2 blocks South to Pitt Street Mall, 2 blocks North to Circular Quay, and a few blocks to The Rocks. It's perfect!

Rooms - gorgeous. I have stayed in about 4 different rooms in this hotel, and they're all lovely. They're very much to my taste - not minimalist, and more leaning towards the plush, comfortable and warm atmosphere. It's so nice to come "home" after a busy, tiring day of sightseeing and put your feet up on the comfy couch while looking at your lovely room.

The room has a gorgeous marble bathroom with European laundry, a nice bedroom area with king size bed and TV, then a beautiful kitchen with microwave and dishwasher, and then down to a sunken living area with balcony.

The staff are SO nice and helpful. There is often a doorman to hold open the door for you whenever you come and go. It's just the perfect hotel.

The prices generally aren't even that expensive, and especially not for Sydney. Because I tend to visit Sydney once a year for over a week, the standard price of around $300 a night is too much for me, but I still manage to stay at this hotel because I go through one of the slightly longer term accommodation companies.
