Another day, another dentist visit and the need to eat something afterward that wasn't sweet. This little BBQ chicken shop in Seddon had just the thing I was looking for.

It's a small shop and the decor is in need of a facelift - fake 80's woodpanel type thing. Small space in front of counter where there's a couple of little tables and then two big glass counters - one hot and one cold.

The prices are pretty reasonable - 1/4 chicken and chips for $5.90 and 1/2 chicken and chips for $9. There are also large baked potatoes and I think there was a tray of lasagne in the "hot box" too. Also sell whole cold chickens for $8.50 and two for $16. Chips are the crinkle cut variety which was a little nostalgic as I haven't seen that for a while.

The scalloped potato was good value at $3.50 for a small serve, $5 for larger. It was just at that melt-in the mouth stage with creamy sauce. But maybe could have had a little more seasoning (salt or cracked pepper) for my taste. The surprising thing was it had some generous chunks of bacon in there which were delicious but if you were after the vegetarian option, you might have got a nasty surprise.

I certainly wouldn't mind going back to pick up a whole chicken and large chips to take home to the family for dinner. Pasta and other fresh salad options too. All in all, a good no-nonsense little shop serving pretty good take-away food at a reasonable price.
