What a terrible practice after visiting med plaza my local medical practice in Sydney's Mortlake 2137 for the second time in one year.

Soon after entering reception I was Questioned have you ever visited the practice before (fairly normal question) I replied yes I have visited recently and I was then told that I have not visited the practice for two years. This must be some sort of error in their systems, I was asked what the nature of my visit would be with the doctor I replied that I needed a prescription for a medication that I am currently taking she said ok and proceeded to book me in to see my doctor.

I was shocked by what happened next the receptionist then started to review my medical history in front of me basicly interrogating me in relation to what medication I was currently taking

(I felt incredibly uncomfortable and also felt that my privacy was being invaded by someone who is not a medical professional)

Reception then told me that if it is something that will take too much time you won't be able to see the doctor.
(I then looked in the waiting room one person sat in disgust and in awe of what was taking place, I said that the medication I am taking is my personal business and that I would only tell my doctor, she then told me that due to it being a Saturday I would be charged a $67 fee she said this in a way that made me feel degraded almost insinuating that I cannot afford to visit this practice, I happily accepted the fee she then told me that I cannot see the doctor now because she did not know what medication I was taking and without this information she would not be able to gauge how long this appointment might take.

I walked away from this medical practice with the feeling that I was nothing just $67 that walked off the street but only if I was to take less than 5 minutes would I ever become that extra $67 in their piggy bank, how putrid and disgusting.

I am not a person that normally writes reviews or bad reviews for that matter but if I had a spare 8 hours I would spend it writing bad reviews for Med plaza Mortlake 2137.

I will never go back I will not take my children, I will not take my elderly mother. If I am to hear that somebody I know is going to this practice I will advise them not to. I will do everything in my power to advise people not to attend this disgusting mess of a medical centre.

Approximate cost: $67

Appointments were easy to make, with multiple dedicated doctors on service. The waiting room is calming and sedate, which is very important at a doctors surgery. The doctors themselves are all very friendly and obviously passionate about helping the community.
