1 review about Michaels Real Estate

Micheal wasted my mothers time and hurt her feelings.

We were very disappointed with Michael as an agent. He has lost touch with people and sales etiquette. He talked to Mum like she was an idiot. In the months the property was on the market, he never bothered to put up a For Sale sign or contact her about reducing the price when there was no action. He never asked what our situation was for selling.

Mum is a single parent on a limited income and this property is all that she has. Her first investment.

Michael never gave an estimate of what it was worth and listed it at the price mum wanted, but did not guide her on how to get interest or give her a number. No one ever really knows what property will go for because the buyers dictate the price. However, I think our half acre of country land was beneath him. Perhaps he shouldn't have taken the listing if it was too small. We bought it off him originally, which is why we asked him to sell it.

It was only after no contact for 3 months, mum called to lower the price and ask what to do next because the contract had expired - only to be told that it was way overpriced, her blurb and photos were bad. And now the market was saturated (?)

Michael yelled at mum saying she should just cancel and made her cry, then hung up. It was childish and unprofessional. I was truly shocked. He was on speaker…

Mum had to ring back to cancel the already expired contract and she was shaking. His secretary made a point of telling her how bad the blurb was and how unusual it was for a client to write one. (How would mum know that? And why didn't they edit it and improve it if it wasn't good enough? Surely, it is their job?) We all thought the photos were superb.
No apology for the hang up or Michael's rant.

Now, we have a property to sell and mum is worried she will get the same treatment from other real estate agents. And she does need to sell.
A very disappointing experience: Complete lack of care, communication, effort and understanding.

Subsequently, ignorance is not stupidity and if agents don't explain the process or care enough to put up a For Sale sign or offer solutions (only blame and anger), then maybe they should retire or go back to sales school.

Shame on you.
