Did the electrical work when my hot water cylinder was replaced with a gas hot water heater. Had to come back a few times (it's an old house, with old wiring) - left exposed live wires sticking out of the wall, which were pretty invisible - concealed in a chunk of plaster that had come off the wall (quite a few chunks came off getting the old cylinder out) - I only discovered that when I asked the gasfitter if he knew what an object high up on the wall was, not realising the electrician had left at that point. The object turned out to be an old junction box, and the gasfitter got his thingy that tells you if wires are live to check it out, and discovered the live wires further down the wall! As I was planning on filling in these defects in the plaster myself, I could very easily have been electrocuted!
The electrician was quite shocked when I called him back, and he returned and removed the junction box and fixed the live wires!
Despite this slight mishap, I'd use him again - he was friendly, didn't treat me like a little woman who didn't know anything, and got the job done. I think he truly didn't even notice the live wires any more than I did - as I said, they were difficult to see in the fractured plaster - and can't believe he would've deliberately ignored them if he'd been aware of them.
