I love giving these small out of the way restaurants a chance. And I'll start off my saying that this review doesn't reflect the popularity of this place, whilst we were dining at the restaurant for Sunday lunch. There was well over 15 people waiting outside in the cold.

Unfortunately for myself and my three friends, we felt "Mie Kocok" was too "authentic" and perhaps just too different from what we expected in terms of Indonesian cuisine. I have traveled through Indonesia, but to be honest it was nothing like what I had experienced at Mie Kocok, so perhaps it wasn't authentic just unique.

Easiest example is if you order "Satay beef" for entreê, what do you expect? Beef on skewers, in a satay peanut based sauce? The beef was shrived up, dry and came in a yellow curry based sauce, which none of us liked.

This was a reflection on the rest of our mains, being either too dry (chicken and rice) or just too weird for words. The pictures on the menu are as advertised, but the taste was totally different and not what we had hoped for. I have been to plenty of Indonesian as well as Indo/Malaysian restaurants but this was nothing like those.

But as I said, the long lines outside do not necessarily reflect what I am saying, as plenty of people seem to love this place. Just not me and my friends.Oh prices reflect the stainless steal tables, and help yourself cutlery and water.

Approximate cost: $10.50

Only been there once, had a Indonesian fried rice and cah kangkung. Food was nice, service was ok, not too pricey as well.

Good food. Excellent choice for take away since the place is pretty small. Not suitable for a group of people. Price is pretty expensive but acceptable.

You can find another style of delicious Indonesian Noodle in this resto.
Try other meal that served with steamed rice like Soto, Sop, Gudeg and special fried chicken.

Approximate cost: $8
