Very disappointing. A superb bijou of a restaurant, very romantic. Unfortunately the food is way below par - not just badly cooked but a really stingy attitude. 50 gms of roquefort is served with 2 Finn crisps. On asking for more crackers we were given exactly 2 more. Shame. An empty restaurant by 9.30pm on a Saturday says it all.

Approximate cost: $32

Seems this person has no idea what Roquefort costs. Pity this person did not say something on the night instead of running home to post an anonymous message. Perhaps he/she should be aware that the Herald Sun deemed us as one of Melbourne's best restaurants and we enjoy over 90% occupancy. Says something about this person does it not? Mon Ami

I was not commenting on the quantity or quality of the roquefort which was fine but on the measly inclusion of 2 Finn Crisps with which to eat it. Last I looked a box of Finn Crisps were a couple of dollars. When we asked for more we were presented with two more lonely looking Finn Crisps on a plate. otherwise. BTW, Stephen Downes in the Herald Sun in early 2009 said he couldn't remember when he'd dined so badly. Sadly I had to agree.

We serve a small and reasonably priced single portion of cheese to be eaten after the main course with enough neutral biscuit to enjoy the cheese. If you want to eat biscuits, bread, fruit etc with a bit of cheese flavouring - go to a pub. In terms of Downes - we are currently adressing that through the courts albeit you should consider just why the same newspaper voted us as one of Melbourne's best just two weeks later. Says a lot for Mr Downes. It is still dissapointing that you chose to hide behind this dysfunctional and anonymouse site instead of saying something on the night. I could have explained how to eat cheese.

Quaint and quirky restaurant off busy Nicholson St in Fitzroy. The restaurant offers intimate dining, in old fashioned French style boutique. I visited this restaurant quite late on a Saturday night, 10.30pm, the Chef hung around to cook us our meal, and there was no brush off. The meals were absolutely superb, and the wine that was offered delicious. Loved this place!!

Approximate cost: $25
