A company that knows what Custer service is. Helpful with useful advise, staff took the time to listen they also knew their timber. Being cheaper than other stores was a bonus. Happy to support local business.

I have been a customer for many years, during which the service has improved and prices become more competitive. The quality of product, service and technical advice is now excellent. I am not a tradey but have had no difficulty buying good timber or getting professional advise from them. If I was the person below looking for "wood" I would probably go somewhere else.

I fully support and am an advocate for local, family businesses and am always keen to push my business towards these companies instead of the big, thankless, cooperation's. I have been to Mooroduc timber a few times and each time I would agree as Tone has commented, their customer service is poor. Their wood is adequate and I use several sources for my wood. I am a tradey (chippy) and know what I am talking about - generally! But they just treat their customers bad. I was speaking with them, actually hung up on me, because they didn't like the fact I commented in a negative light about wood they had supplied me - it was bent like a banana. No big drama, I didn't want it changing. I guess if you are in a pinch and need your wood quick and fast, they are local and have most things in stock. But I certainly wont be giving them my business again, which I feel is a shame as profits should be kept local. All because of bad attitudes and poor customer service.

I would like to say that I have had dealings with Moorooduc Timber & Hardware over the last 20 years and have always had helpful service and the staff have been great to deal with. It is nice to still have a family business in town that looks after the locals.

OK, it's a timber yard and the timber they sell is fine. However, be warned if you're not a tradey, the staff there are not happy to help and their negative approach to DIY trade is appauling. We spent over $2,000 on decking materials there and they were still unhelpful. It just makes you wonder how much their lack of customer service costs the business each year in lost DIY trade. So, if you're going there, make sure you know EXACTLY what you want, make sure you know the trade terminology, ALL of the standard sizes and be prepared to apologise for not having an account with them. Since buying our materials, we have spoken with other locals that have had the same experiences there. All of us refuse to go there again because of the miserable customer service.
