The building itself looks very new and wandering through the cheese section was quite enjoyable, some lovely flavours, and we've never seen such massive lumps of cheese in their storage room. We didn't stop for food in the onsite cafe, but the menu options did sound absolutely divine, so we will go back again and spend some more time there. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and if it's overcast or you go in cooler months, rug up a little as it can get cool outside. The decor is appropriately rustic, and very relaxing with nice views down to the rest of the village shops.

The appearance of this microbrewery is very classy, and the service very friendly, but I must admit that the actual taste of the beers leaves a little to be desired - semi-home brewing (such as Brew4U and the like) results in what I think are much better quality (albeit a different game altogether). Then again, you get a fair amount of convenience with the number of brews available here and the friendly atmosphere. Good to take tourists along to somewhere like this - there are a number of other options to try in the same building - cheeses and a fine restaurant.

I have visited MT Brewery on two separate occasions and both times really enjoyed the experience.
The first time we went was with a group of friends on a winery tour, we stopped in there and did a cheese and beer tasting. The beer tasting included very decent portions of 4 different types of their beer and there was a very substantial portion of the cheeses supplied for us to sample. We were assisted and all set up with our food and drink within 20 minutes of arriving, at a table that had been reserved for us.
The second occasion we actually ate lunch, the meals were nice, general pub good. There was a bit of a wait, but that really just gave us an excuse to enjoy a few more beers, which can never be considered a negative. We grabbed a cheese platter on our way out for later that night, and it was delicious as well.
In both instances, the staff were friendly, the area was clean and hygenic and the atmosphere relaxed and happy, which is perfect. It is a super relaxing environment to spend a few hours.

Our experience at Mt Brewery Bistro is one that I'd rather forget. I have never had such terrible service or seen such bad organisation. Our family (8 adults, 2 children) decided to go there for lunch on Easter Monday and knowing it would be busy we were prepared for a wait. We ordered our meals together (which were just burgers and chips) and received two meals after 20mins, 4 meals after another 30 minute wait and after an hour and a half of waiting my brother and his wife had still not received their meals. As we had two young children with us he had to request a refund so we could leave and hardly got an apology. We approached the waitresses and waiters several times during our wait to ask them when they would be ready but they were very unhelpful and never returned to the table to inform us if the meals were coming or not. A very disappointing experience and put a dampener on our whole day.

Pleasant enough place on first impression, only half the tables were usable though as it had been raining, and the staff weren't interested in wiping anything down (or giving me a rag to do it myself) Was enjoying the taster tray, waiting for the food to come out, finishing the taster tray, still waiting for the food. (Our friends had already had time to finish their lunch (cold after waiting four ours to come out) ) Checked with the staff who weren't really interested, waited a bit more, went to the kitchen to check, got told they must have lost the order. Got the impression they thought it was funny, received no apologies, and when the food did come out, it was incredibly undercooked. Crying shame, as the beer was great, however would have to had blown my socks off to ever consider going back.

i do love a good brewery. that aside, terrific location and scenery and not too far a walk from gallery walk. i recommend buying some cheese from the witches chase and buying a sample plate of the beer (they let you select which beers you wish to try). excellent value. great afternoon. a pitty someone has to drive really.
