I've been taking our two cars to NRMA Motorserve at South Strathfield for 4 years now. I initially chose this business because I am an NRMA member and I felt like they would be reliable and professional and not rip me off, since - to be honest - I don't know much about cars. I have been very satisfied with their customer service, price and the quality of work done. I especially like their communication with me. If they diagnose something that needs to be repaired, they will always contact me to explain the problem clearly, answer any questions that I have and outline the costs involved, so there are never any nasty surprises. Recently they went out of their way to help me. I had two small things go wrong with my dear old Corolla on two consecutive days (a nail in my tyre one day then a brake light globe blew the next day). This was a particular problem as it was the days just before my daughter was due to take her driving test in my car. They very kindly fit me in without a booking and solved these problems asap. This business is not particularly close to my home. I probably pass hundreds of other mechanics to get there and it is a bit of a trek for me but I get home by bus and I feel it's worth the trip. If you're just getting something quick like a pink slip, they have a large clean lounge area with tea/coffee, TV, magazines etc. I think you do get a discount as an NRMA member, but anyone can go there.

Good service, fair prices, relatively clean, and best of all their advice and recommendations seem genuine.. I didn't feel like I was being ripped off! Also got a extra $50 discount as part of a promotion for NRMA members. On the other hand I was told that they would drop me off at the nearest train station once I dropped off the car but upon arrival they said that they only provide this service during early morning so I caught the bus.. no big deal!
