1 review about Omron

Omron do a range of Pedometers and other things

I wanted to purchase one a while ago so I checked out reviews on the net and read pros and cons and star ratings etc

It was this brand and a couple of others that seem to be the most popular ones and most sites and place stocked them for around $30 for a good one that did calories fat steps etc
I got a model HJ109 for $34 from my local shop

What I didn't realise as the reviews had all said it was really good was it had now been discontinued which explained my frustration trying to get it to work numerous times

It comes with a good booklet that explains how to set your weight steps and how to work out your calories burnt and a trouble shooting guide

I read the booklet and couldn't get it to work properly by giving an accurate reading of steps calories etc

I took it back a few days later with my receipt and explained you get a reading but its not accurate and I wanted a refund it was faulty
But he said he would try it out for a few days so more public transport trips

So I went there a few days later and I get told its fine
I again said no you do get a reading but its not an accurate one

It was then when I came home with $34 of useless that I checked out the Omron site and found out the model had been discontinued

I emailed them they said send it to them they would have a look

That made me laugh so I can spend another $10 posting it to them and then I would probably get another HJ109 sent out to me when what I wanted was a refund from the faulty product not be out of pocket more

Unfortunately that one bad experience has put me off any further purchases of there products even though they seem to be one of the better brands to get
I felt like if you return something with a receipt in a couple of days from purchase and its in no way damaged and its not working properly you should be offered a refund if that's what you want

So why give a receipt for a purchase if in a couple of days you can't even get a refund

You have a right to refund under Consumer Laws if the product is faulty. Tell the company you will take the matter further and see what they say.
Hope it all works out.
