We went here for a family birthday meal for 7 adults last night. What a great venue. Run by the Lyndoch Hotel, this restaurant is open Friday and Saturday nights.
The dining room is very open and modern, with heaps of seating for well over 100, I would guess, but plenty of room around all tables and seats. The building maintains the old facade along the road, fitting in well with the heritage style of the pub and surrounding buildings, but inside is all new and very comfortable.
The meals start at $21.90 for a main, such as crumbed calamari, salt & pepper squid or schnitzel, through to about $30 for sirloin steak. But this includes a full 3-course meal, with soup (minestroni last night), salad & veg. bar and a self-serve dessert bar included in the price of the main.
I had a grilled chicken fillet with avocado, cheese & hollandaise for $26.90. It was a big serve, served on a bed of mashed potato (heaps, but tasty).
The salads were very fresh and the roast veges nicely cooked.
And the dessert bar, what a great selection of beautifully-presented desserts, from coffee creams, pavlova, various cakes and slices, fresh fruit salad, hot tarts and a soft-serve icecream machine.
The waitress who attended to our table was very welcoming and bubbly, adding to the pleasant atmosphere. Meals were served very promptly. Even a large group of about 20 people who ordered after us were all served in very quick time.
This is a really relaxed and unpretentious dining spot, but more formal than a pub lounge, and a great place for a family get-together.
We spent a very pleasant couple of hours here, relaxing for a chat after finishing our meal, with no pressure from staff to leave. Will definitely return.
