It's great to know that you can still get a good bowl of pasta on Lygon Street for under $20. I went there a couple of nights ago with some work colleagues. The menu is massive. Any type of pasta and sauce...it's there. And beautifully prepared. I'm a sucker for fettucine marinara and was not disappointed. Heaps of seafood and no one had room for dessert

As you would expect in Lygon St; gutsy good italian food! Spaghetti Marinara with olive oil & garlic - fantastic.
We have eaten here on more than 10 occasions and have introduced many friends who also return.
I would recommend this restaurant.
We have even phoned early in the week, requesting a particular fish dish to be available the coming weekend ... Pasta Rustica obliged!
Another occasion, a friend from Riga craved fresh tomato soup. Not on the menu and not available ... but again the chefs stepped up and made fresh tomato soup for one!

The two of us had a romantic evening in this rustic restaurant. The traditional Italian gentlemen serving us had a real pride in their work; it makes a lovely change from young backpackers that are here today and gone tomorrow. After a starter of Garlic Bread we both had main meal sized portions of pasta. The freshly grated parmesan just added to the true Italian flavour. The meal was finished off sharing a rich Chocolate Mousse Charlotte with coffee. A relaxed and enjoyable evening watching the world go by.
