Paving, retaining walls and steps for our backyard on a sloping block. Initial estimate for the job was 6 weeks, but ended up taking 3 months. Work was undertaken by various subcontractors of varying skill level, at one point a storm water pipe outlet was buried under rubble behind the retaining wall and we had to specifically request that this be rectified. Communication was poor - we never knew who was going to be there to do the work and when. Some of the subcontractors were very careless when handling paving materials resulting in broken blocks and pavers; also used our wheelbarrow without asking, and broke some of our tools, which they also used without asking, and then attempted to hide the damage. The quality of work seems to depend largely on which subcontractors are assigned to the project - we seemed to be quite unlucky
