I am a massive sucker for photos. . . All those upfront offers that get thrown around at baby expos, and just at your everyday shopping centers. I have actually taken up a few, as well as two independent photographers and one amateur. Overall, I have found the independent photographers amazing (quality and style brilliant), a friend of mine just starting out (free yayyy!) to be great quality, just a little rough around the edges, but great none the less, but Pixifoto was the one that truly stood out to me. They have their normal 10x12 or 10x13 offer, which reels you in, but in comparison to other businesses, (not photographers, but business') they are exceptionally cheap for their product. When they first told me 15 minutes for a session, I thought I would only receive 4-5 photos, and they wouldn't be well presented, but to my surprise, the photographer had taken just over 20 shots, with a heap of variety. There were about 3 that weren't my taste, but I ended up getting enough for my whole family (and a few enlargements just for me) for $540. I was actually amazed. . for some reason it saved us money to add 4 or 5 images, which seemed kind of ridiculous, but for roughly the same cost, I could have received one large image and a few little ones with an independent photographer. And I have found with other businesses, you have to buy 8 different sizes of the one image. Star shots, from what I understood, didn't offer packages, and charged near to $200 per 8x10, and while the quality was exceptional, I found it was too formal, and glamoury for a newborn. . . . . I would honestly recommend PixiFoto's to anyone . . . ps, fyi: Pixie's first collection was $240, and you get a bonus big one if you pay in full on the day :)

Approximate cost: $540
