Good atmosphere, attentive service. The Reuben sandwich was a winner. Tomato chutney with the chips was a nice touch.

Pope Joan does not have a conventional menu, but there is always something for everyone because they cover a range of tastes and food elements. I have enjoyed my dining experiences at this homely cafe, which has a farmhouse atmosphere from the knick-knacks on the side tables, wall ledges, wheel barrows, traditional timber furniture etc. Dishes which I have enjoyed to date include Zucchini tart (pastry shell filled with a light zucchini mousse garnished with raw zucchini ribbons & creamy cheese on top with a salad of quinoa, cranberry and herbs) and a Sandwich featuring cauliflower and celeriac slaw, slices of aged cheddar and Branston pickle in a soft wholegrain bread. As you can see, interesting dishes to be had at Pope Joan.

Overall, this place is great. The staff, while a little overworked perhaps always make you feel welcome. Despite being overhyped, the food here is good. It is overpriced. Once I'm in the door, why not encourage me back with minor generosities? It can't cost very much more...

Took a while to find when I first got there, but it was worth the search. The service is magnificent and I found the place really cosy, not as in small but as in comfort. The place looked gret and with attentive service and a great selection of food. The homemade baked beans are great.

Approximate cost: $15.00

By far my favorite Brekkie haunt in brunswick. The service is always friendly and efficient on a consistent basis . Love the ever changing seasonal menu with some fixed dishes all year round. The coffee is always something to look forward to here ,you cannot go wrong !

I drive past this cafe each day to and from work, and so the other day I had spare time, so I stopped to buy a hot chocolate as a morning treat and it was quite lovely.

Definitely will go back again on the way to work as its conveniently located for me.

This place does the most delicious breakfast. The atmosphere feels just like home. I ordered the banana bread with strawberry cream and have not tasted anything close anywhere else
