Delicious little cafe hidden away overlooking pretty rose gardens. Yummy pizzas and great for spring/summer.

The Pork Barrel is a very popular lunch spot with pizza lovers who work nearby. I'm not a pizza person, so I always order the home-made hummus with lightly toasted Turkish bread, which is consistently delicious.

The Cafe is always very busy at lunchtime, but the staff are unfailingly polite and efficient.

The cafe is situated near the Rose Garden, which makes for a very pleasant experience in good weather.

Now this place was a bit of a surprise - and much better than the food that was being offered at Questacon... we did the casual thing and had the woodfired pizza - sometimes the simple things are the best. The Pork Barrel Cafe staff were very accommodating for our family with young children and the experience was made all the more better by my purchase of the takeaway Chorizo Sourdough... that's right, chorizo in bread... original and very tasty on the trip back to the car! Will be back to this place when next dragged to Questacon!

Approximate cost: $18

This a great cafe if you are in the Parliamentary Triangle, especially when you go on Monday or Tuesday for lunch or Thursday and Friday night after 5pm- there's two for one pizza. I really enjoy the Bombay Bliss pizza - it's similar to curry chicken on a pizza drizzled with cold cucumber yoghurt.
If you go at any other time and pay full price for a pizza, make sure you ask for a loyalty card. When you buy 5 or 10 pizza, you get a free pizza.

There is also a rose garden outside the cafe, so you can even go for a stroll to work off your food.

Approximate cost: $25

Catered for a work function that i was organising. good fresh and interesting food that was a step up from the normal catering food you get. Would recommend this for conferences or meetings etc.
