PUPPIES shampoo, nails trimmed, hygiene clip, hand scissoring, face and feet tidy. Puppies need to be started on a bathing/grooming routine as soon as is possible, so they get used to the whole grooming process – especially puppies with longer hair and curly coats that will matt very quickly if left for too long.
MEDICATED SHAMPOOS If your dog needs to be bathed in a medicated shampoo that has been prescribed by your veterinarian, please bring it with you to your appointment.
BREED STYLING TO STANDARD As these techniques and clips will vary from breed to breed please call for pricing. Pet dogs can be clipped to look like the breed style standard but at a lesser cost to the owner (compared to hand stripping and carding which can be time consuming)
MATTED COATS AND FLEAS Trying to brush out severe matting will cause your dog unnecessary pain and stress. When the coat is severely matted the only thing to do is to shave it and let it re-grow. How close to the skin the matt is and how tightly it is matted will determine how short the hair will have to be cut. The clipper blade needs to get under the matt to remove it properly. With regular grooming the new hair growth will be healthy and matt-free and will be easier to maintain. Your dog will be much happier with a matt-free coat.
If your dog comes for a groom with excessive fleas, the fleas will be treated and an extra charge will apply.
EAR PLUCKING Some dogs/breeds do have a lot of hair in the ear canal. This needs to be removed to enable the ear to have the proper air flow and remain healthy. I will only remove the hair that comes out easily. If the ear is very dirty I will not pluck the hair as this can lead to an ear infection.
ANAL GLANDS Anal glands can easily be arranged to be done while your dog is having a check-up at the vet. You can also arrange to have it done before their grooming appointment, but please let us know when you are booking your dog in that they are getting this done.
DYING We also do dog dying, ears and tails Light coloured dogs are best for dying on fur. We use hypoallergenic dog colouring.
