While the food is bland and poorly prepared, eg:
Veal that has just been run through the deep fryer
Quiche slice that is dry outside and cold inside
Salad with cucumber slices thick enough to choke you and hardly enough dressing

How can a cafe get away with serving such terrible coffee? If you are used to drinking instant, it is better. If you are used to drinking real espresso coffee, you can't stomach what they serve.

Only go there when I have to meet a family member, otherwise I wouldn't waste my own money on the place.

The Council play land outside is a plus, but this comes down to the location rather than the quality of food & drink.

Approximate cost: $14

this is the best place in Cronulla St to eat with kids. right next to the pirate ship, so the kids can play while you sit and enjoy your coffee. food is simple but nice with large-ish servings. lunch is filling enough to last till past dinner.

Approximate cost: $10

This is the best spot to take your toddlers and with outdoor dining available overlooking a kids playground, you can kick back and enjoy a meal while the kids enjoy the playground. Meals are of a high quality and is always busy with passing trade of parents and kids. They also do great kids meals.

Approximate cost: $14
