Tired and hungry we stopped for a quick dinner on our way home. The service was speedy, the shop empty, and the chicken and chips we had filled the spot. The gravy in particular was a stand out, tasty and with a lovely finish, it proved the perfect compliment to the well cooked and seasoned chips. The service was provided by a very cheerful young woman, who was genuine in her service and made us feel welcome. All in all a great place to stop on the way home for a bite to eat.

Approximate cost: $34

Delicious range of gourmet pies, they have crocodile, kangaroo, emu, and many other "odd" flavours but are all fantastic, my personal favourite is the pizza pie it is scrumptious! They also have a range of take away food & chicken as well as salad sandwiches & cakes/slices. Great place to stop in for lunch.

This place can get really busy it has everything from their excellent range of gourmet pies that have flavours such as kangaroo and crocodile plus many others. Have had their normal meat pies before and they are good. Also have a large variety of other foods that you would normally find in a take away shop. Fried chicken bar that make great chicken burgers.
Small indoor seating area as well as a few tables outside so you can sit down and enjoy your meal. Range of hot and cold drinks too

After hearing a radio advert about the pie shop. I thought I would give it a try. The shop was crowded (it was lunchtime) I eventually got my order in. I was disappointed with the taste. It was like the coffee, pretty ordinary

How disappointing, especially after a long wait. I felt that way about the bakery in Halls Gap.

With 40 varieties of plain and gourmet pies including crocodile and prawn, camel in honey soy, buffalo etc.
Quality seems to have dropped over the years, but still worthwhile for a once-off.

Hi Belt, thanks for an honest review. This place certainly sounds adventurous, although we won’t be visiting any time soon. We would much rather be inspired by a camel’s beauty and grace than to have him/her sandwiched between two slices of pastry. Thanks for the review.  Regards, Reeces
