QV newsagency has recently been sold, the new owners Peter and Tania are a breath of fresh air to this business. Customer service is excellent and there relaxed friendly nature make it a pleasure to again shop in this store, it is very evident that these young energetic couple and the staff are very focused on the customer and the service provided. It is a pleasure to shop, in a warming and welcoming atmosphere. Great job to all.

Can agree with the last respondent.

I have been in the shop less than a minute when the rude assistant came over and said"they are for buying, not reading" I at first thought he was talking to the customer beside me, but it turned out to be me.

Fair enough if that is the business' policy, but the assistant was rude and abrupt. They do not deserve the business, and the more people they treat poorly, the less likely they will stay that way. I know I will never set foot in that store again, if you want a great newsagents, try McGills in Elizabeth street or go up the road to the newsagents up on the corner of Bourke and and Exhibition (under the telstra building). great service, fantastic range Polite, staff.

QV newsagency deserves a boycott.

I entered the newsagency and proceeded to 'flick' through a couple of Architecture magazines to see if they are worth buying. I tend to purchase at least 15 architecture magazines a year. Since these type of magazines are worth between $11 - $24, I want to make sure there are articles in that magazine that make it worth purchasing. Within 5 minutes, the store owner approached me and proceeded to tell me that I was not able to 'flick' through the magazines unless I purchased them. He then pointed to a small sign that said just that. I was shocked by the owners rude behaviour and aggressive body language. The store owner then suggested that he had warned me on previous occasions. This is totally incorrect. I will never purchase anything from this newsagency again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Anyone considering purchasing specialist and sometimes expensive magazines are bettter off going to McGills or Borders.

Approximate cost: $18
