A beautifully maintained old country pub, in the small town of Spring Hill. The building was built in 1911, and maintains its original charm. If you dont want to sit or stand at the front bar, there are 2 or 3 ornate, solid wooden tables and comfortable wooden chairs, seating 4 or 5 where you can either sit and chat near the fire, or eat a meal, or move back to the good-sized dining room behind the front bar area. 4 of us had meals, surf & turf, chicken pie, chicken parmagiana and fishermans basket. All very nice meals, huge serves, no room for dessert, even though there was a good dessert selection at $7 a serve. Main meal prices were very good, from $10 specials up. The chicken pie was served in a ceramic pie dish, huge, couldnt believe the size, but very tasty, nice big pieces of real chicken in it, and nice thin pastry. Apparently a new chef has recently started, and the locals we spoke to were pretty happy with the change.
Very friendly managers, staff and locals, the manager even came up and took a photo of our group for us when he noticed I had a camera with me, and came back to check if we were happy with our meal.
This was a very pleasant spot for a night out.
