Railway St Medical Centre is considered our 'family doctors'. We have been there when we are sick or when we need a vaccination for the last 9 years, so we have seen the change from old decor to the new decor. The new decor looks good and modern.

We have also seen a change in the doctors practising there. Half of the doctors from the 'old decor' age have left. We normally see Dr Trinh. We have also seen Dr Poulos, Dr Jeong, Dr Chan, Dr Kang and Dr Benedict (Dr Kang is no longer there). It's true that the wait is very long, about 1 hour. I sometimes find it frustrating that it's the same wait regardless if we have made an appointment or not.

Recently a Dr Quach joined the practice. My sister saw him on 21/2/12. She has hurt her back. It might be a muscle pull or slipped disc because it hurt so much and she couldn't walk properly. She walked with her spine curved to one side. Despite that, Dr Quach refused to give her a medical certificate which my sister required to give to her company. He only agreed to write a letter to state that she has seen him that day, that's all. He believed that she could still sit at the desk and work in her admin job. It's incredible and shocking. I know that there are people who fake injury or sickness to get away from work but surely, he could see that my sister's case was real! In fact, a few weeks have passed now (today is 12/3/12) and my sister is still seeing an accupunturist and chiropractor for her back.

You won't want to see Dr Quach.

Always busy and as such usually a long wait to see our preferred doctor, James Jeong. Since the toys were removed in the waiting room I find the wait quite unbearable with my 3 year old, but he likes the doctor and I find that Dr Jeong is genuinely interested in us and seems to be a good all round gp. I feel like he knows us and doesn't just push us through as fast as he can. Would prefer it if you could make an appointment.

Apart from one young male doctor who works here (which I try to see because he is very good), the service is pretty poor. Most of the doctors just want to get you in and out as quickly as they can. Most of the doctors have no people skills whatsoever.

Chose to see a GP, a Doctor by the name of James Jeong; I spent quite some time waiting, I kept an eye on the queue, and was outraged to find that the Doctor would choose to take patients, to put it bluntly, of his own nationality, before other patients that had been waiting 3-4 times as long. I made a point that this was noticed; and made a complaint to the medical ethics board.

As a long standing, Non-Korean patient, I am amazed by this comment. Dr Jeong comes to the desk, gets the next few patients and then works through them in order. As I have spent many hours in the waiting room I am 100% certain of this. I always count how many I am down the records at the counter, note when he does his next pick up and am always exactly that number along the queue. I think perhaps this person is displaying their own racial issues here, rather than the doctors.
