Landlords be warned! They were very nice in the beginning but they misled me on important information such as the duration of the lease signed until the tenants were moving out and I asked why they were breaking the lease and then I was told the lease was actually for only 6 months not 12. There are always mistakes on their monthly statements where they either overcharged something or underpaid the rent and you have to spend to time to audit the statements closely each month. They overcharged one of the fees and agreed in writing to reimburse it but when I exercised my rights to terminate the management agreement with them, they called this an unethical action and then refused to reimburse the overcharged fees. The agent called to lecture me for 15 min and then actually refused to keep talking to me to try to resolve the matters in dispute. The whole dealing was so horrible that I told them I would pay for the 60 days management fees in lieu of serving the notice period so that a new agent can take over the next day and they then threatened and forced me to give up my rights to recover the reimbursement of the overcharged fees as a condition for them to release the file to the new agent. They are seeking for more properties to manage on their shop front and this should be a warning sign to all landlords that they don't have a lot of business in property management!!
"NSW Fair Trading's monthly register shows a third of the most complained about businesses in September were real estate agencies, with Raine & Horne coming in second after online tech store..."- SMH 05.11.2016
