My car was taken down there when it stopped driving. It cost me over $4000 and three weeks. When I finally got it back, it was leaking water - they had forgotten to screw something back on! Then it kept overheating - another one of their 'mistakes'. The engine still had a rattle and when I told the owner, I was told that I was only a woman, had no idea and was probably imagining it. Two weeks later, it died completely in peak hour traffic - turns out that they had never fixed the head (which was the original problem!) and if I wanted it done, it would cost me ANOTHER $5000! Shoddy workmanship and bad attitude - never ever again.

I had to sell my $35000 car for scrap metal and buy a new one.

Approximate cost: $5000

I am aware that this review has been queried. Everything I have said is true and unforrtunately, the actual incident was far far worse as I was humiliated by the proprietor's attitude and comments. He refused to take any responsibility for the fact that his workers had stuffed up the job and blamed me for 'being a woman'. While my criticism may be harsh, what I have written is very much a 'watered down' version of what happened. This is no way to treat customers.

To the person who has queried my experience - it was worse than what I have written here. I will hazard a guess that you were male, hence the positive interactions. The owner was misogynistic and I felt humiliated and incompetent by the way he spoke to me even though he admitted that they had left the screws loose. I am glad that they respected you as a male, but as a female, I prefer to go to mechanics who treat me with respect instead of making me feel as if I am stupid purely because of my gender.

To the person who queried - of course I went through this with Franc. He denied everything in front of my children and made me feel lower than an ant. He took advantage of my mechanical ignorance. Disgusting shoddy behaviour.
