there is a new Dr Chris at Reynella Vet Hospital. Dr Chris McIver. He is just as amazing as Dr Chris Ayres having taken on the vet clinic approx a year ago. Nothing has changed at all in the clinic, just the faces. The new Dr Chris is just as compassionate as Dr Ayres. We now have 6 dogs and he treats every one of them as little angels. They all love him and never freak out when visiting 'the dreaded vet'. He speaks to you in plain english and will explain every option for the treatment of your pet and even follow up for days later if there has been a problem. Its good to know there is still a trustworthy vet in the southern area who is not out to make some quick cash from our loved furry friends. We highly recommend Reynella Vet Clinic for any animal needs you may have. The best vet in the south by far.

I have taken my puppy to this clinic for vaccinations and for spaying. On both occasions I found the staff very friendly and helpful. There was not waiting- my appointment times were kept to the minute which significantly decreased my stress!
My little girl was spayed yesterday, she had some teeth removed, a blood test and her ears checked. It was not a cheap procedure, but all the costs were fully explained to me when I booked. It actually came in $20 cheaper than was quoted.
Although it is a small practice it is not understaffed. There are office staff, multiple nurses and the vet.
I was pleased with the care information I was given before and after the procedure. The staff took the time to talk to me and that means a lot to a nervous puppy parent!
I know that Southern Animal Hospital is only just down the road, but I urge you to give this little clinic a go. I'm sure that you'll also appreciate it.

have taken both of my dogs here several times and was always very happy with the service and the treatment of my animals. The staff there are very professional and I remember one of the vets coming out into the car park once and distracting one of my dogs with dog biscuits while I got my other dog out the car and took her in. He did a great job (sometimes it is the little things that you remember.) I have always been very happy with the professionalism and care shown towards my dogs and have recommended this place to family members and friends. I found this vet to be very well priced and never felt like I was being hassled to book my dogs in for any unnecessary services. (Like some vets do.)

Fantastic Vet and great staff. Very caring for all our animals we have taken there. Dr Chris really loves his patients and offers the best advice and care. The costs are well below that of other vets in the southern area. This man is there for the animals not for the profits. Highly recommended. I would not take my animals anywhere else.

Dr Chris Ayres is by far the best vet in Adelaide. He is compassionate, professional and friendly to both animals and humans alike. He has been there for us thru the loss of one cat and two dogs from start to end and is now the care provider for our four adopted Chihuahuas. These dogs like no-one but a trip to see Chris and they become golden angels letting him poke and prod whatever needs to be poked and prodded.
I highly recommend Chris to anyone needing sound pet advice, care or just a second opinion on another surgeons recommendations. He is there for the animal not to make some quick cash on human emotions regarding the care for their pets.
In times of crisis we have taken our pets to other vets in the south after hours but ended up at Chris's the next day for some real down to earth advice and he has never seen us wrong yet.
We highly recommend Chris for the care of your animals and would never call anywhere else our vet surgery. The girls who assist Chris even know us by name and are always polite, helpful and friendly.

Dr Chris Ayers is a consummate professional. His love and respect of animals is apparent on first meeting. No animal likes the vet and my cat makes this well known. However Dr Ayers, handles my cat with ease and there is no awkwardness whatsoever in his handling of my cat. His knowledge is thorough and he doesn't try to onsell all their products or preach to you about how i should have my cat permanently locked inside and only feed him particular foods, like i have experienced at some other veterinary surgeries. He does however offer informed advice. I moved away from the area 20+ years ago and have tried other vets closer to home, however in the end i am yet to find an equivalent so prefer to drive the extra 30kms to visit Dr Ayers. I would highly recommend this Veterinary Surgery to anyone wanting professional,value for money, and a practical, caring vet.

I have attended this clinic for the last 15 years! Dr Chris Ayres is beyond professional. He obviously cares very much for his patients and has always given us good advice and value for money service. The rest of the staff are friendly and respectful and everyone goes out of their way to give exceptional service with a smile and kind word. We trust Dr Ayres with the lives of our furry family members and he treats them accordingly. Very impressed!
