Went to have a lunch date with my husband but decided against it when we saw the prices $22 for a burger or steak sandwich. The cafe was busy and extremely noisy. So we decided to have a look around the nursery as it was a lovely day. The gift shop has some cute things in it but I find that their prices are also on the expensive side.

I love having a meal at rivers! The food i have found to always be really really nice and moreish but it is just soooo expensive for a cafe. We avoid going there because of this. It's always busy so sometimes a little impractical taking kids. I do enjoy browsing their giftshop as it has lovely things there but i never buy as again, it is too expensive.

Lovely surroundings with the nursery & gift shop. Cafe a little over priced. We used to do brunch every Sunday & order the delicious "smoked salmon supreme" with poached eggs but it was taken from the menu so we stopped going. Recently we went back, heard they'd rehired a previous chef, so hoped our fave dish might be back on the menu. But it wasn't. Simple bacon & eggs wasn't even on, so we had to make a special request. Then they were a bit mean in only serving it with 1 slice of toast. Big disappointment.

Great variety for a garden centre cafe. Beautiful surroundings by the lake with ducks, fresh produce. One of my favourites is the pot bread, oh and the fries with aioli! Not the cheapest, but good quality.

Shame it's expensive, but perfect to go to for a date look around the nursery then a nice lunch. Amazing scrambles eggs and good portion sizes! Just a beautiful place to vusit

Such a lovely place - love the garden and ducks. I've been here a few times mainly for afternoon tea and scones (the best) but visited again for lunch lately and really enjoyed it. Everything tasted so fresh however it was a bit pricey. It's also a shame the breakfast is only served til 11.30am, it would be nice to enjoy it later on a lazy Sunday.

A wonder through the nursery... Feed the ducks.. a touch a shopping in the gift ship, or maybe even a cup of coffee or a meal... you cant go wrong!!

Gorgeous atmosphere, nice place to go for lunch. Menu is varied, meals are not huge but I love the platters to share. I was there with friends on a day that it wasn't so busy so we got to sit in the enclosed outdoor veranda by the lake. My niece loved watching the ducks, and we saw a turtle! We then went and fed the ducks and browsed the nursery and as much of the giftstore as our niece would allow us ha ha! I got some nice photos by the lake which is something I wouldn't have thought of since we were just going out for lunch! Nice local and a bit fancy feel. Gorgeous place to browse around but a bit pricier than some.

We have been here a couple of times for breakfast and also for lunch. Serving size is small for the prices but the meals are lovely and very tasty. Good idea to book as it always seems very busy. Lovely surrounds with the Lake and feeding the ducks is very popular with the kids. The beautiful gift store has a great range of things on offer and I love to browse through to get ideas but it is very expensive.

Love the steak sandwich! Yummy fresh juices too. Wish they had the passionfruit sponge cake available more often. Hot chocolates need work, Belgian hot chocolate would be nicer. Best to book if you want a table next to the lake. Children enjoy watching the ducks and the occasional turtle in the lake. Great that they have highchairs of varying sizes. Gift shop seems pretty expensive.
