Divine dinner with our party of 7, including 3 kids.
They have a fantastic kids menu which is great value at $15, and includes a main, dessert and drink. It's actual 'proper' food, not just the usual sorry chips and nuggets- the kids loved it.
I had the Tonkatsu rolled pork and it was incredible. Sides of cauliflower gratin and beans did not disappoint.

We recently had a 2 night stay in Bendigo & discovered this little diamond. We were so impressed on the first night, we booked in for dinner again on our second night, & if we hadn't already have booked our tickets for the Heathcote Wine Show on Saturday, we would've had lunch there as well. It is seriously one of the best restaurants that hubby & I have eaten at in a long time. What an awesome menu, only surpassed by it's awesome staff, Finn & Linc, (BTW, thank you both for your incredibly hospitality, fabulous banter, & (Linc) for the metal spoon to keep hubby in check...) Book yourselves a table & order the gorgeous scallops with zucchini, asparagus, preserved lemon & pistachios...it is one of the most divine things I've ever eaten; I'm still dreaming about it. A little tip when you're ordering the scallops, ask your waiter for a little bread to mop up the gorgeous juices at the bottom of the plate...YUM!! The Thai seafood curry is sensational, as is the charcuterie plate, & I'm not normally a pasta person, but the saffron pasta with spanner crab was juts dreamy. For dessert, I LOVED the lemon, lime & bitters marshmallow topped with sherbet. Next time we come to Bendigo, we'll have to stay for a week, & book a table every night, so we can work our way through the incredible menu.

Approximate cost: $28-35

Rocks on Rosalind is situated right in the middle of town, across from the fountain, which is a great location. It's a modern restaurant with great ambience and wonderful service. Our only complaint would be that it was a bit warm when we went - a hot summer night - but that could have been because the door was open.

Staff were exceptionally well trained & attentive. Cutlery was changed over after each dish (we ordered several mains to share so they came out separately) which was a nice surprise. The drinks list was extensive and offered a good selection of wines and cocktails. Food tasted absolutely amazing, and they cook with fresh ingredients, which really shows. The only slight complaint would be that the spanner crab saffron angelhair pasta, while it tasted great, didn't seem to have much crab meat. Also, food portions didn't seem very large especially for the price - about $40 for a main, and $4.90 for a dessert. However they may be focusing more on quality rather than quantity, and the quality is definitely up there!

Their chocolate-based desserts were all great, especially for us, being chocolate lovers. However their strawberry cheesecake was a bit of a disappointment to be honest, more gelatinous than creamy.

All in all though, Rocks on Rosalind is a great new addition to the Bendigo dining scene!

Approximate cost: $40
