I go to the Rokstar in Red Hill as it is close to work. Prices are a bit high but at least the blow dry is free. I hate it when other hairdressers charge you to dry your hair- as if it is an extra luxury! - This place makes a mean cup of tea! :)

I have been a regular to Rokstar for close to four years now and have only once walked out disappointed. They are amazing and when i rang and spoke with them about the disappointment they fit me in the next day and fixed it free of charge. However the price increases have been quite substantial with change of management.

I've never been someone to write an online review before but I had such a negative experience at Rokstar that I felt compelled to share my story. I should begin by saying that I do think the Rokstar staff are friendly and I have, in the past, gotten great haircuts here. My issue was with my colour. My hairdresser did not listen to my requests despite the specifics I gave them (including a picture). I trusted in their skill as they are the hairdresser (i.e. the one with the knowledge) even though what they were doing didn't seem to correspond with what I'd asked for. Big mistake. My hair colour ended up being several shades of wrong and so dry and damaged that it won't even absorb another colour to fix it. Given I spent a decent amount of money on the colour (plus more $$ on treatments trying to repair the damage) I am obviously disappointed. My hair is so frizzy and horrible I now pretty much only wear it in a bun. Although I have liked the haircuts I've gotten at Rokstar I don't think I can go back on principle.

I've been a regular for about 7 years and have had nothing but praise for Rokstar. I have recommended the salon to many. However the price I'd normally pay has escalated a whopping $50 since my last visit. I know small businesses need to make money however I feel as a loyal/ local client that this is just ridiculous. I will not be back, for the colour was nowhere near as good as it used to be.
