We loved the pie pastie and sausage roll we had today .. been a very long time since we had good ones.
The butter chicken was delicious and the beef curry flavor full.
The pastry of the pastie was flaky and buttery good!

Have tried most local pie merchants, and in terms of product Rosenhart is hands down the best. Best variety and taste, also largest and best value for money. Service can be another story, I partially put this down to Covid, meaning that opening hours can vary considerably...some staff are also a tad surly....However, as above...product is the best...

Hello tanmarw, i am extremely sorry to hear that. after getting to know that recipe given to us, is not the original one. we contacted Hans Rosenhart same day and discussed the recipe. and he told us exactly what he used to use. so have started using old recipe. please feel free to taste one pastie as complementary and give feedback. all are welcome to give suggestions. Was very disappointed with the customer service provided. My mother was repamanded to not touch the glass by a young man as he would "have to clean it again". As someone who works in retail and knows what is expected of staff in regards to the quality service towards their customers, I was very let down. I will not be returning.
The shop is discussing and the owner is worse then the staff
Its so sad my family have been going there for 29 years and the owner and management are horrible
The girls are a great friendly bunch passing through on our way to aarat stopped there for some lunch on friday it was so good I could have ate more.

The name "Rosenharts" conjures up a possibly delightful fine Jewish pastry shop, perhaps a hidden gem of Ballarat. Alas, it was not to be. "I'm on me own!" Cried the poor girl serving as an endless stream on customers arrived, only to be bitterly disappointed by the lack of hot pies and coffee ("we've run out of milk!"). Sorry, no redeeming features for this one, but perhaps we simply struck it on a bad day.
Came here a while back and loved it! wonderful pasties and pies!! awesome indeed! have recommended to friends going to that area of town
