I live on the island in the summer, and I consider myself somewhat of a chip (and chicken salt) connoisseur.
Best chips on the entire island. Also best price for quantity.
This place is beautiful, they have a great system and are efficient. Friendly staff.

I couldn't reccomend it more!

Lunch for 5 (3 kids 2 adults) flake, dim sims, potato cakes and chips ($60), fish was great, dim sims average, chips and potato cakes average. For fish and chips on the island eating down by the bay a bit dissapointing. Flavour was lacking.

On our visit to the Island we were told about the Pelican's to go have a look before we headed home, its a great sight to be seen by all young and old alike.

At 12 on the dot the lady come's to feed the Pelican's with all of the cut off's from the fish Co-op, it is an amazing sight to see and they can get upto 90,100 pelicans at a time some-days and have been fed their for over 20years now. You can also Donate to the fund that nurses then back to helth after being hurt at sea.

BUT,,, The Chippy, Yummo, with great pack's available on offer, I chose from one of those as they looked to be great value. We had a Beer Batter whiting and a grilled seafood pack that came with a lovely side salad, it said for one, but the grilled basket would have fed the two of us with no problems.

Seats inside or outside to enjoy the fresh sea air. Heaps of parking, Credit Card friendly and the staff were really helpful.
They have also got little buzzers, so when you food is ready your not Yelled at!!

Go get your food, before the pelicans are fed though as the cue is huge after.

We discovered the SRFC during our trip down to San Remo during the Christmas break. After witnessing a delightful Pelican feeding at the Pier, we decided to head to the SRFC to get our own fish. The queue when we walked in was almost out the door.

The orders were taken quite quickly, but the wait for the food to be cooked took more than half an hour. This was probably due to the holiday tourist numbers. The quality of the seafood though was not compromised. One bite into the fish and you could tell it was fresh. We ordered a seafood basket in addition to battered fish and chips. It was worth the wait.

The wait was also worth it, knowing that the fishermen do leave a generous amount of flesh on the fish carcasses they feed the pelicans with.

Approximate cost: $20.00
