We're building at present, & didn't realize how hard light selection can be. We've been looking for months, hoping to have everything ready for the builder when he needed it, but just couldn't find anyone who understood what we wanted or needed.

After buying our fans on sale at Beacon, which I now regret, I decided we would not get lights there. The staff were not interested in what we wanted; just selling us what was fashionable - & I HATE halogens & downlights.

Thankfully, we stumbled across Select Lighting & the bubbly Rosanna. Not only did she listen to what we were telling her, but she gave us some great advice & even better solutions. There was a fixture I had my heart set on, but wanted a slightly different version & no-one in any of the other stores would change it, or even had an inkling as to how we could achieve what we wanted with it. But Rosanna did! She came up with a simple, but brilliant solution that made that particular fixture EXACTLY what I had envisioned for the space. It cost a little extra, but sometimes cost is negligible against getting exacty what you want or need.

In the end, I think the cost for almost a whole house was pretty reasonable. We got 13 fixtures for our money, (not including globes), which averages out to about $138 a piece.

What was priceless about our experience at Select, was the personal service. Rosanna has been in this one job for 30 years, but she still has the energy & enthusiasm of a 20 year old, & still greets everyone with a smile. In this day & age where service is extinct in retail Rosanna is a welcome change.
