Love Sensory Lab coffee. They are also serving at David Jones, It's a rich smooth taste and I'm never disappointed. They use quality milk and beans

I have never understood the fuss people make about this place - the coffee is average, the cakes are rarely fresh, and everything is overpriced!

I have been back a couple of times and each time leave disappointed.

Beautifully designed space. With Lach at the helm, the service is exceptional. Coffee this morning was an Ethiopian Guji, which was delightfully clean, yet had sweet apricot tones that I love in Ethiopian Guji beans

Stopped in to grab a chai latte with a friend who was after a coffee.
The ordering system is strange- I went to the register to order, and was directed to sit down at the tables, but then no one came over for quite some time.
I ordered before my friend arrived, and her drink came first- my order was lost.
It wasn't worth the wait, and I wouldn't go back. Chai was fairly average.

Hi Curlycee, sounds like they need to brush up on their level of customer service! Reeces

Nice place to grab a caffeine hit and very convenient to many places in the CBD, especially my work. :) Coffee was great, well made and strong. A bit expensive at $5 for a large though. Would go back but only when I am feeling rich. Nice little place to sit with friends and lovely decor. Food is also expensive and not much to choose from, this is more of a coffee place.

Approximate cost: $5.00 large coffee

I grabbed a coffee from here this morning after strolling through David Jones. I needed a caffeine hit and told the guy and so I got one, that's for sure. It was lovely and smooth despite how strong it was.

Approximate cost: $4.50

By the same people who started St Ali, they are conveniently located in the CBD at the back of the DJs foodhall on Little Collins St. Great for people working in the city.
The coffee is reliable and good. As per St Ali, there is a house blend and usually some daily specials featuring particular single origin coffee beans. This place is for serious coffee drinkers, the coffee is good, and they will make all the styles from the standard latte to cold drips and filtered coffees.
No outwardly fancy coffee art here (unlike Manchester Press). Instead, the majority of the time & effort for your $ is spent on making a perfect brew, rather than prettifying the surface of the coffee.
They do takeaway coffees, but there is also a small seating area with a few tables for people wishing to stop and sit.
There is also a food cabinet, a few panninis, cupcakes, slices, friands etc. However, be warned the food is available at inflated prices.
We were tempted by a small-medium sized hazelnut meringue cupcake. It was $5.50 to takeaway!

Hi Rosep1, thanks for a brilliantly composed review! At the end of the day, I would imagine that serious coffee drinkers would prefer a â??decentâ?? brew, instead of a â??prettyâ?? one. The Hazelnut Meringue Cupcake sounds delicious! Regards, Reeces

Cute little place operating at the end of David Jones in the CBD. Coffee is absolutely fantastic there! If I'm in the area I'll definitely go out of my way to walk there because it is unbeatable!
