Slowpoke is cool. Good coffee, clever food coming out of a tiny kitchen and a great choice of spots to sit and enjoy your lunch. I love the window stools facing Brunswick st. So nice in winter to sit with a tea and porridge and watch the world go by.
There is a courtyard out the back for summer also.
Menu is small and seasonal. Lots of healthy and hearty options with choices for GF and Vegan also.
Staff are wonderful. Always calm, always lovely.

I popped in here with my 2 boys for lunch after a visit to the Melbourne Museum. I figured it would be nicer than having something overpriced at the museum .
They make their chai blend in house, and it is superb. My son had a hot chocolate, which was nice.
The menu is full of healthy, delicious options- no chips and nuggets to be seen.
Sadly, no highchair which does make it difficult to navigate with a littlie, but then I don't think young families are their target market. They are small, but any cafe can fit in something like a Handysitt which can be slung over the back of a chair.
The staff are very friendly and happy to chat, and they had plenty of current reading material. We will be back.
