I love the atmosphere in bookshops. Soundbooks offers something a lot of people haven't seen before, though. They have a really broad range of books on CD for adults, young adults and kids. The staff will always come up and give you advice - they've usually listened to what you're interested in. The new shop in Burke Road has an open plan, so it's easy to get in and out. I've bought audiobooks for myself and my family, both as presents and to help them read literature for courses, etc. They all loved them. The staff don't mind how long you browse. Usually good music playing in the shop! Also interesting other side of the shop - foreign language books. I'd recommend taking a look at audiobooks, and Soundbooks are the specialists in Melbourne.
