if you like beautifully presented food, that tastes as good as it looks, an ever changing menu, (be sure to check out the specials board!) great, friendly service, decent prices, filling servings with indoor/outdoor seating, Southside bistro is a fantastic place to enjoy all that~! my friend & I would give it 6 stars out of 5 if that were possible!
I had the peri peri prawns lunch special with complimentary iced lemon tea, then mochi ice cream for dessert.
superb!

Approximate cost: $15

my sister recommended this place, their menu looked interesting, I tried the Spanish slow cooked pulled beef steak - $15.5 ... nice but the beef chunks were on the fatty side & meat was small serving for the price ... also had the chickpea battered sweet potato chips for $9 ... i was too busy working through the mains that by the time i got onto the chickpea battered sweet potato chips, they'd gone cold & soggy .. :S they probably tasted heaps better when they just came out, or so my friend tells me ;) will be back to try their other offerings! nice outdoor seating arrangement too ;)

wow I've never been back to the same place so many times in such a short timespan just to try their menu! this time I was in for Sunday lunch ~noontime & had their Panko crumbed chicken sub lunch special with kimchi [wherever it was? there wasn;t much of it, if at all! With seaweed fries - (which were very pithy fries with "seaweed dust"?!) … chicken sub was vry yummy but fries were disappointingly small & bland .. all for $15, not too bad ;)

Approximate cost: $9

came back on Saturday lunchtime, not too busy, which makes for a good atmosphere to catch up with friends! this time I tried their lunch special of a pan fried Baramundi (with lime hoallandaise sauce, toasted almond salad (pithy portion!), rockmelon (a few slithers) + potato wedges - $15
rather imbalanced portions of fish vs. salad, but i guess I'd rather more fish than salad for my money ;)
would've loved to have tried

came back for dinner with another friend, as i was tempted by the deep fried green tea ice cream bao with condensed milk and berry coulis dessert! - $12
~6pm most tables were full, so definitely reserve a table on a Saturday night if you plan to go!! this time I had the cumin spiced lamb skewers - nice, flavorsome & tender,
with minted pea mash and balsamic reduction *yummy!* - $15, this time a much better veges vs. meat portion combo than lunch! highly recommended! ... i was tempted to drink down the remnants of the minted pea mash and balsamic reduction, but thought it may not go down so well ;)
the dessert was HUGE, so be sure to save space in your stomach if you wanna try it, but I gladly activated my "dessert stomach" & it all went down well :D
