1 review about Sparkle Pamper Parties

I had a pamper party for my hens, we went through Sparkles and I wish we hadn't! Molly and her daughter were lovely, but their services were not up to scratch, especially for the price. We went for the "Girls night in/hen's party" package, costing $400. Each guest paid $50 and included was pink champagne, a small food platter, robes and feather boas, a facial, foot soak and scrub, and nail polish applied. Basically we were handed two warm pink champagne bottles which was just enough for us to have one small glass each. The nibbles platter was much too small for eight people. We all put on our robes and boas and put our feet into some water with rose petals in individual bright pink tubs, the tubs were barely long enough to put our feet flat. Then those of us who were not wearing makeup, only half of the guests (I had my makeup done professionally earlier on in the day), got the "facial", which was just some homemade slop painted on with a brush, and not painted on properly. Then for our feet, we received a "foot scrub" - salt was rubbed on the TOP of our feet for around 20 seconds only, I counted. Then our toes and fingers got painted...there were lots of colours to choose from, but none of them were very nice. Only one coat was applied, was very thin and over the edges and had distintive brush marks. I had to go out on my hens night with tacky, badly applied nailpolish on as I didn't have any nailpolish remover. Nobody was happy with what we received for the cost, my sister saw the job that was done on my nails and actually left the room discreetly to avoid having hers done. I didn't feel pampered in the slightest, the part I was looking forward to the most was the foot scrub and I was super disappointed. For $400 you might expect a little more than that, maybe a little more scrubbing, maybe a trim of your nails, or at least two coats of nailpolish! This sort of party would be much better suited to some young girls (minus the champagne of course), I felt silly in a pink robe wearing a pink feather boa. It sounds like it is worth it but you will only know it's not once you've tried it for yourself (which I don't recommend). If you want something really nice for your hens, you may want to go to a beauty place (like a day spa) and have a 15 minute neck massage ($15-$20) and basic pedicure ($30) or spa pedicure ($45) and BYO food and drinks, will cost a tiny bit more but would have been way more worth it!

Approximate cost: $400
