I love that this place actually cares about the quality of their almond milk and use Almond Milk Co instead of Milk Lab (the latter is basically just inflammatory vegetable oils and fillers, gross). The coffee is delicious and the staff are super friendly! Can't wait to try their food.

Approximate cost: $5

Really hip cafe in the groovy Fitzroy. Very trendy in decor & menu. The cocoa pop french toast is amazing & i hope it says on the menu for long to come!

I had the "The Simple" brekkie and it was eggs on toast with some tomatoes and cheese. Nothing fancy but extremely yummy. Great coffee, nice ambience with lots of natural lighting.

A cool eatery with a trendy hipster atmosphere.
A range of options on the menu, from vegan/vegetarian to hardcore meat offerings.

Great food ! A bit too many eggs on the menu for my liking, but otherwise great. Nice ambiance with large communal tables.
Can get really busy around peak times though.

Sibling to Proud Mary. Stagger Lee's offers a similar concept, similarly great food, in a second location. The main difference is that it is slightly more 'american' in style and ventures beyond brunch to offer more substantive meal options.
That said, they have a great winter breakfast dish we tried - named the 'Canadian Mountie breakfast' it consisted of a potato gratin, crowned with shaved corned beef, sizzled kale and a poached egg. There was also a velvety polenta option, with a salted egg yolk, pecorino cheese and buttery pine mushrooms. Very luxurious and interesting breakfasts.
Alternatively, for a lighter meal there are a range of interesting salads and baguettes. Sweets are on the menu too. We sampled a fragrant pumpkin loaf and tangy yoghurt ice cream. It came scattered with candied shreds of orange rind and toasty walnuts. Delicious!!
